Greg Tallmadge CMB®, AMP, & Willis Bryant Scholar

Greg has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in business administration, from the State University of New York (SUNY), at Brockport, New York. He also obtained a Black Belt certification in the Six Sigma quality systems.

Greg is a self-manager and high-achiever and has over 20 years of financial services experience. He has worked for a top 10 mortgage originator and servicer (Independent Mortgage Banker) as well as a top 10 commercial bank. He's also worked at a top private mortgage insurer and for other consumer and commercial finance organizations. His experience includes mortgage banking, home equity lending, unsecured lending, including credit card, and commercial lending including equipment leasing. His career has included branch management, sales, originations, enterprise project and program management, secondary marketing, and capital markets, as well as risk management and regulatory compliance.

Greg Tallmadge

Greg is a Master Level (Residential & Commercial) Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) as well as an Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP), and he has been in the mortgage industry for over 20 years. He received his designation in 2003 and has been teaching at the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) School of Mortgage Banking (SOMB) since then. He's instructed at the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, and other public sessions hosted by the Mortgage Bankers Association. Greg is a member of the Society of CMBs and has successfully sponsored candidates through the journey of becoming a CMB. He was active with the Capital Markets/Secondary Marketing and Loan Production Committees at the MBA. Greg has been an active speaker at the MBAs National Secondary Marketing conferences.

Greg was most recently with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. Prior to that, he was with TD Bank N.A. as the Residential Mortgage Group Product Manager. In this role, he was responsible for product, pricing, capital markets and econometrics. During his tenure, the retail mortgage platform grew from $2B/year to $9B/year in originations, the portfolio grew from $7B to $21B, the products offered increased from 9 to 40, and both a pricing engine and enterprise risk management systems were implemented to facilitate a transformation from a portfolio lender to a hybrid lender capable of selling loans as well as investing in them.

Before that, Greg helped Radian (PMI) implement a proprietary claims management system during adverse industry conditions. This cross-functional effort was comprised of 11 projects, and impacted the organization across all departments and included a large effort in change management. Formerly, Greg held numerous positions of increasing responsibility with PHH Mortgage over the 15 years he was with them. His last position was Secondary Marketing Manager at the top 10 originator responsible for the retail, correspondent, and wholesale channels for the industry's largest private label lender and independent mortgage company.

His experience in mortgage banking includes product design, development and implementation, pricing strategies (including risk-based/LLPA), selection/implementation of pricing engines, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), warehouse lending, wholesale/correspondent lending (TPO), hedging software evaluation and implementation, portfolio management/portfolio performance analysis (PPA), loan sales (agency and private), best execution and securitizations, CRA lending and loan purchases/sales, POS and LOS evaluations/implementations, pledged asset lending for wealthy customers, and third-party outsourcing (BPO). He has experienced regulatory oversight from the OCC, CFPB, Federal Reserve, and OFSI. Greg has held a number of state lending licenses for both first and second lien mortgages as a Qualified Person in Charge (QPIC).
